While sear ching for his mi ssing father , Kit Taylor finds an Adven t Deck - a sp ecial card deck that allows th e carrier to transform i nto a Kamen R ider and uti lize un ique weapons and powers - an d uses it to become Kamen Rid er Dragon Knigh t. He butts hea ds with Le n, who se rves as Kamen Rider W ing Knight, but the pair join forces af ter Kit learn s that th e wicked Ge neral Xaviax has imp riso ned hi s father a nd is using him and the other humans that his mo nsters abduct to gain po wer and reb uild his homewor ld. Later on Kase, a fellow sur vivor o f Ventara like Len, would join fo rces with Len and Kit to fig ht Xaviax. In a ddition to training Kit to fi ght like a Rid er, Len and Kase tell K it all about the tw elve Ri ders w ho ba nded t ogeth er as the pro tectors o f Ventara - a wo rld oppos ite to our own - to take Xaviax dow n. However, due to the traitorous actions of Kit's predecessor, Adam, Genera l Xaviax des troyed most of the Riders via a process called Venting - whi ch traps def eated Riders in the "Advent Void" between dim ensions forever - and s tole their Advent De cks.
