Shoo ting in I ndia began on 2 October , with the f irst leg of the shoo ting beginn ing in s uburbs of Mumbai.[3 ][4] The sho w was also see n in Lecce, Italy with a N oble M600, McLaren MP4-12C and a Lamborg hini Aventado r.[5] Hamm ond announced during the Top Gear Live sh ows in Birmin gham, that additiona l recordings for the new series had been done in the USA. The Ja nuary 2012 editi on of Top Gear Magazine feat ured a preview of what to expect in series 18.[ 6] It includ ed a piec e whe re Richard Hammond drive s a NASCAR safety car for a real race, later going on to drive an actual NASCAR race ca r. The magaz ine also feat ured a part of some of the power t ests to expe ct, inclu ding Jeremy Clarkson drivin g a Mercedes-Benz C63 AM G Bla ck Edition, a Me rcedes SLS AMG Roadster and a Maserati GranTuri smo MC Stra dale. Hamm ond meanwhile wi ll drive a 2012 BMW M 5 F10, a nd May will have a Vauxhall Corsa Nürburgri ng Edition. Another feature i s going to China to t est drive Chinese cars , Ita ly in 3 super-cars, Lamborghi ni Aventa dor, Noble M600 and a McLaren MP4 -12C. A lso James May is taking a trip to USA to test sports hybrid super car Fisker Karma, meet ACDC frontm an B rian Johnson and drive his 1928 Ben tley Vand en Plas L eMans Tourer. According to Top Ge ar Executi ve Pr oducer Andy Wilma n, Cla rkson, Hammond and May are going to norther n Swe den as well, where they will race the new Ferrari FF acros s a Silverstone Circu it-shaped ice track.
