In this season, the show went back to ai ring one new ep isode a week, b ut stayed in the hour-length format , filli ng u p the second half-hour with episodes from previous seasons and some of the prime-time specials from the 1980s. This entire season, along with the second half o f sea son 6, is ava ilable on Garfiel d and Friends Volum e 5 DVD set. Also wor th noting is that h ere, a new theme son g wa s added that was wr itten b y J.R. John ston and Nei l Pant on. The theme was su ng by J.R . Johnsto n. This theme song was not shown internationally, and as a result, it do es not appear on the DVDs (although Gar field's quotation s are kept intact). This new intro duction sequence used most clips from Sea sons 5 -7 and a few from the fi rst two se asons, as wel l as Ga rfield in Pa radise and Garf ield's Felin e Fantasi es. The ep isode s stopped using a few seconds of the theme playing in the episode title cards after sea son se ven's fourth episode ; music fro m the episodes were us ed in the title cards until t he show ended, even th ough season s ix us ed music fr om some of the ir epis odes.

“明明留着长发，长得柔美，甚至穿的也是偏修身的衣服，像是一个会开屏的孔雀，但是却偏偏不施粉黛，素着一张脸；而且这么一个张扬的人物，名字大概 也应该取一个什么南宫欧阳司马这种才对吧，偏偏 叫一个低 调到不行的周二；最后呢语气仿佛跟我很熟悉，当着你的面也不怕暴露知道我们关系的 事实，应该 是不怕你的，但是却偏 偏又不把话说透，你要他走就走了。”
“沈柠小姐，我只知道我父亲 以前是在这个 省生活，但是具体在哪里，我并清楚，我问了沈栋，连华县在哪 儿，他说在地图上找不到，他 也不清楚，我想几十 年来，很多地名都改变了，想要寻找起来非常困难，只能等我父亲亲自来华 国才会知道，可我还是想试试，给他一个惊喜。”
