This production of 'Twelve Angry Men ' , written espec ially for Stu dio O ne, is short er than th e film vers ion and lea ves a f ew twi sts an d turns of plot un developed, but it is fifty minutes of class n evertheless. For many years this e pisode was thought to have been lost. The Museum of Televi sion and Radio (now the Paley Ce nter) had only the first 30 minutes of the hour-long program on a kinescope p rovided by CBS - the o nly ve rsion CBS had. Afte r nearly 30 years of searching, a copy of the c ompl ete pro gram was found in 2003 by filmmaker Joseph Consentino, who was working on a docume ntary ab out noted defense attorney Robe rt L eibowitz ( Leibowitz reported on the Ch arles A. Lindbergh baby k idnapping for the NY rad io st ation WHN) and found a copy of th e show in the archives maintained by th e children of Leibowitz, Robert Lei bowitz and Marjor ie Leibowitz Finch. Samuel Leibowitz request ed and rec eived a commerc ial- free kinescope copy of &qu ot;Twelve Angr y Men" from CBS shortly afte r it aired b ecause of his interest in legal issues.
