This produc tion of 9;Twelve A ngry Men';, writte n especially for Studio One, is shorter than the film versi on and leaves a f ew twists and turns of plo t undeve loped, but it is fift y minutes o f class nevertheless. For many years this episode was tho ught to have bee n lost. The Museum of Televis ion and Radio (n ow the Paley Cen ter) had only th e firs t 30 minutes o f the hour-long program o n a kinescope provided by CBS - the only version CBS had. A fter nearly 30 years of searching, a copy of the complete program was found in 2003 by filmmaker Jos eph Co nsentino, w ho was work ing on a documentary about noted defense a ttorney Robert Lei bowitz (Leibowitz repo rted on the Charles A. Lindbergh b aby kidnapping for the NY radi o station WHN) and found a copy of the show in the archives m aintained by the children of Leibowitz, Robe rt Leibowitz and Marjorie Leibowitz Finch. Samuel Leibowitz re quested and received a comm ercial-f ree kines cope co py of "Twelve Angry Men&quo t; fr om CBS sh ortly after it aired be cause o f his inte rest in legal issues. The Leibowitz c hildren d onated t he kinescope to the museum and it had a re-premiere in M ay 2003.
