One day , while playing in h is secret tree ho use in the fore st, 11-year old Antoine spies upon bank robbers stashing 40-milli on francs wo rth of loot. One of t he robbers is the father of his newest best frie nd Lisa, a 10-year old Canadian visitor. Not wanting to r at on her father, Antoine instead moves th e money to a different spot. Neithe r he, nor Lisa have a lot of r espect for their frequentl y absent fathers. They fi nd adults to be inherent ly hypo critical. Both kids do shar e a love of animals thoug h. Togeth er, they dec ide to run away to Biarritz, a resort town, and star t spend ing a li ttle money.
