A failed , recl use directo r, Max, moves f rom New York City to a small seaside town af ter his wife's death. He struggles with his parental role over his son. Eddi e, meanwhi le, is becomin g increasingly invo lved in the not-so-underg round culture of dr ugs, p romiscuous sex, and gang viol ence that lies there. Th e chasm between them seems to be growing despite Max's best effo rts. Max jogs in the mornings an d routine ly passe s a psychic. She spontaenously pred icts that one night a serial killer will attack Eddie on the beach. Eddie is sampling va rious drugs with his friend, Smiley, and ha ving unprotected sex. He i gnores t he advice o f his father as a rule and see ms beyon d hope of redemption in the eyes of mainstream societ y. He sh ows potentia l for betterm ent when he prevents the murder of a riv al gang me mber . “我找的财经杂志主编是我 好朋友，所以文章从那上面发出去没有任何 阻碍。报道一出来，下午记者们都涌去秦氏门口，蹲着守证监会的人进出秦氏的画面。证监 会的人没有避人， 所以很多记 者都拍到 了。但是这些人当晚就收到了消息， 有人愿意高价从他们手上买 照片，要求不把新闻发 出去。”
