An affluent medical profes sor, Komiya , and h is bos sy wife, Tokio, are to l ook after Setsuko, their high-s pirited nie ce from Osaka. Setsuko is a liberated woman who does what she wants, includin g sm oking, even though she is a minor. O n Saturday, the profe ssor doe s not feel like going to his weekend go lf game, but his wife packs him off anyway. So he lea ves his bag at the apartme nt o f his stud ent Okada, and goes to a bar with a friend. Setsuko traces him there, and insists that he take her t o a geisha house. When she gets ra ther tips y, the profe ssor c alls Okada to take h er home, while he sleeps a t Okada 's.
