The ei ghth series has been conf irmed to air starting on Frida y 6 January 2012 on BBC 1 at 9pm. Howeve r creator Tony Jordan has said that th is will be the last for at least a while and the last with the current cast. Guest st ars featuring this season w ill include Sheila Hanco ck, Martin K emp and Pate rson Joseph.Peter Polycarpou and John Barrowman have also revealed on Twitter that they will have guest roles in s eries eig ht. This wil l be the third s eries to be filmed in Birming ham, the fifth in HD and the fourth s eries fea turing all of the curren t cast. Adrian Lester is also set to direct an episode , in which Mickey is kidnapped.Other cons will see t he team take on the worl d of sl imming pills and pull off a gold heist.
