After his initial work with Uher, Grecner made his mark a s a proponent of the so-called intellectual film, th e antithesis of the sociologic ally, or rather, s ocially crit ical film. Grecner's great role mo del was Alan Resnais, a young Fr ench film maker who sought to introduc e Slov akia to the idea of fi lm as a labyri nth in which meaning s are cre ated not by stories , but by complex configurati ons of dialogue, shots , and various la yers of tim e, thus differentiating film from b oth liter ature and theater. In Dragon Retur ns―the story of a solitary hero who is needed b y vil lagers li ving far in the mountains , but w ho is re jected b y the m at th e same time because of his deta chment―Grecner br ough t the tradition of lyricized prose to life thr ough a w hole series of for mal aesth etic techniq ues. Ala in Robbe-G rillet im mediately developed this idea in th e film shot in Brati slava T he Ma n Who Lies (Slovak Muz, kt ory luze; F rench title L'homme qui me nt; 1968), and pe rfected it in Eden an d After (Eden a potom, 1970)

“他选择继续坚强活下去，喜欢写书，于是他忍 受着巨大 的痛苦去做他喜欢的事，可半年以 后他写成的稿子不小心丢失了，他一度灰心丧气。但后来，他仍旧选择振作，在他娘和媳妇儿的 帮助下，他用生 命写成了一本伟大的小说，得到了全世界人的赞美和肯定。”
“孩子，你也别太紧张，就是吃顿饭，到 时候善文他们 夫妻不会来 的，戚尧那孩子总是放 心不下你，其实也看 得出他是个极孝顺的孩子，家 里的老爷子很看重那孩子的孝行 ，他老人家常说，一个人如果连辛苦养育自 己长大的母亲都不顾，那这孩子不要也罢！
