The documentary will pro vide an urge nt look at the science of climate change and the potential solu tions to this global threat, comb ining footag e that reve als the already devastating imp act of climate cha nge on our planet with inte rviews from s ome of the world ’s lea ding climate scientists. After one of the hottest years o n record, climatologists and meteorolog ists explai n the effects of c limate change on both the hu man population and t he natural world. Sc ientists, including Dr James Ha nsen, Dr M ichael Ma nn and Professor Catherine Mit chell wi ll forensically unpack the science b ehind the extreme weather cond itions of recent years, which have seen unprecedented sto rms and cat astrop hic wildf ires; as well as detailing how the accelerating rate at which the wor ld’s ice is melting is ca using sea level rises, and how d eforestation is exacerba ting the prob lem o f gl obal warming by adding to CO2 in the atmosphere.
